Riana sat on the edge of the tree, her awareness sunk into the land surrounding her. For a few more minutes, she focused on feeling how everything connected – the wind stirring th leaves, the birds chirping in the trees, everything rustling around her…

She was at peace, for the first time since the faeries had been killed. Hope entwined through the woods around her as well as through her own heart. The faeries were back … and they would become stronger.

And she was beginning to get a bit stronger. She was starting to … sort of … sense the world around her. She could feel things a bit more clearly then she was able to … she stretched out her senses, trying to ‘feel’ the sparrow hopping around on the ground a yard away with more then just her ‘pointy’ eyes.

At first, she had been almost worried, feeling the energy still. There had been a guiding feeling throughout her life, helping her out … one that she never realized was there until it left. At first she had thought it was because Melora was having troubles, because of the faeries dissapearance … and then, after the strength flowed back in the wilderness’s energy and the guidance was STILL not there … she had wondered, briefly, if she had done something to turn Melora from her.

She had been about to ask Moon Fang about that when they spoke near the river … but then had realized … he was connected to Melora. If he did not seem upset, or think she was making a mistake … then she had not done anything to worry about.

Her mind brought her back to the fey portal … and she shook her head in wonder. She had closed a shadowrift … and had opened a fey portal … somehow.

She grinned a little bit. Tiron would never believe it.

... she startled at that thought …

It had been so long since she last thought of Tiron. The man she had once loved so much … and she barely thought of him anymore. And now, when she did think of him … it was fondly, but … it was in the past, now. Before, she had always thought of him as if he was there, even when he wasn’t …

Well. She guessed that it was to be expected, with so much going on. So much had changed. He really WOULDN’T believe it… if they ever saw each other again. Seeing as much as she had now… she realized it may not be a definite. She sighed…

Then shook herself and refocused on the wilderness, before that thought could shake the peace she was feeling. She focused on the wind, a slight breeze now blowing … bringing the smell of roasting meat on it, making her stomach growl.

Shaking her head, she whispered one final prayer to Melora, then pushed herself up from the ground. She turned to the oak that she had leaned against, and put her hand on its bark, and blessed it for giving her shelter, feeling a bit of fondness for the oaken one…

Slinging her quiver over her shoulder, she picked up her lovely bow … she really did love it, and it was perfect for her. She had been practicing with her shot lately, trying to get it better… after all, sshe started to realize that one of the ways to keep her people alive would be to help kill monsters quicker… if she could help.

Besides … she was a predator, not prey. Sometimes she wondered if she was a bit more like prey, in running and avoiding being hit … NOT that she wondered it enough to run into the fray! She was a wee bit wiser than that, at least. But, she wanted to hone a bit of her attacks … be able to strike back better.

Then she turned to head back towards the tower, and the smell of roasting rabbit …
